Choir News

12th December 2018

On Thursday a group of 47 children attended a performance of A Christmas Carol at Northern Stage.  Wow!! It was amazing!!!

We are so proud of year 5 and 6 choir members who performed to the residents of St. Catherine’s and Ashton Court Care Homes this week. At both venues, the children presented a 30 minute programme of music that included both traditional carols and modern songs. A huge well done to all pupils involved!

Our annual Christmas service at Holy Cross Church was opened by a small group of children who gave a beautiful performance of the first verse of Once in Royal David’s City. During the service, year 6 pupils told the Christmas story, we sang traditional carols accompanied by the organ and the Choir sang two of their favourite Christmas songs. The service was attended by all pupils from our Reception classes through to year 6 as well as the parents and families of our children.  The service provided everyone with time away from the business of Christmas and the opportunity to relax and reflect.

A huge congratulations to our Performing Arts Group, who led performances of Scrooge, A Ghost of Chance last week. We are extremely impressed by the amount of creative learning that you have done over the past few weeks. You captivated your audiences through your script learning, fantastic singing, beautiful dancing and effective acting. Well Done!
