Y5 Science Forensic Day

24th June 2019

A group of lucky Year 5 children had a day being a forensic scientist with children from some of the other academy schools. In the morning they learned how to dust for, and identify fingerprints, take a shoe print for identification and look for clues and hair samples under a microscope. After lunch they had to put what they had learned to the test and investigate their own crime scenes to find their suspect! To do this, they had to get into role and put on their white suits, gloves, outer shoes and masks, just like the real forensic scientists do! The children (and staff!) had a great time – so much so that they came back to school still dressed as scientists. A great day!
